In Memory of Pete Rietkerk Sr.

Here is the final video that I’ve completed for my dad, Pete Rietkerk Sr.  I had to divide this into two parts due to the size and length, about 50 minutes in total.  Dad had a few items tucked away in a small lock box, including some photos, badges, and newspaper clippings, which I am including in these videos.  I have also included several video clips and photos that have not been shared yet.  May his memory live on, and enjoy these videos!

PART 2

Dad’s military memorial service

Full military honors and committal for my dad, Pete Rietkerk Sr., at Riverside National Cemetery (RNC) in California on August 17, 2016. This piece includes drone coverage of the cemetery, as well as excerpts from video taken during Veterans Day 2015. RNC is the 2nd largest national cemetery in the nation, and also the busiest. My dad was an Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam era in the 60’s. He ended up as a specialist level 4, and although he never saw action in Vietnam, he honorably served our nation as part of a 6-year commitment (2 years active duty and 4 years reserve):

Sandia Base, New Mexico 1963
Seneca Army Depot, New York 1963-1965
US Army Reserve 1965-1969

This video is a tribute not only to my dad’s service but to all veterans of the US Armed Forces.

Dad’s birthday montage

Thought I would string together some video clips taken at recent bdays for Pete Rietkerk Sr.  Some of these clips have not seen the light of day, and are long overdue for a showing.  We started having “themed” birthdays for dad starting back in 2013.

2013 – “Forever 21” / Spanish theme
2015 – Wine theme
2016 – Starbucks theme
